Steam civ 5 mods not downloading

Launch the game and click on Mods. At first it will show none installed, but after a second or so it will start showing progress bars filling and emptying for each mod you copied. After that should take only a few seconds or a minute or so you will have your list of mods back.

Why this happened or became necessary? In my case, I installed and played the game on Linux for a while. Then, I switched to my Windows install and reinstalled the game there. My guess is that because I had already downloaded and used mods on Linux, the Windows installation got confused somehow. For instance, there might be some kind of config file, or server side setting, which prevents the auto-copying of downloaded mods from cache to mods folder.

Or it could be something as simple as Steam thinking everything is already downloaded and installed and deciding to take no further action not updating anything.

Guide Index. How to do it. Where is the mod? Ajax 20 Jun, am. A question I don't see: what is the best thing to do if the mod is installed and present in a folder, but CIV5 downloads an extra copy of the civ5mod file instead? Would I just delete the extra civ5mod file, or would I unzip it and replace the contents of the existing folder, or what? DangerousNate 13 Feb, pm.

What is the default for the. I accidentally set notepad to it and now everything is not how it's supposed to be. Mods aren't being automatically unzipped and I'm struggling to figure out how to do that.

I'm hoping that uninstalling and installing again will get me back to the default. Troller [author] 25 Sep, am. Mihajlox Will update this in the tutorial! Mihajlox 16 Jul, pm. After the last fiasco with all mods being wiped out.

I had to slowly resub to each one. One thing I noticed is that the more mods I have, the longer they take to download on the mods page, sometimes close to 5 mins after I resubbed then did they download on the mods page. I don't know if this is why they don't show up for you, but maybe try running civ and staying on the mods page while resubbing to one mod at a time until it downloads. I agree it does suck though.
