Why is my file downloading as zip

My company recently upgraded from Office to Office Now whenever someone attaches a word document to our form, Internet Explorer doesn't seem to know that it's a docx file, but rather it thinks it's a zip file and downloads it as such.

I have asked our IT department to do this, however they are telling me that the MIME settings are something that is changed on the server's end. And because the form attachments are stored on Jotforms servers that it is Jotform that needs to change the MIME types. Most departments here only have access to IE. A second work around is to save the file to your computer instead of just opening the file and then renaming the file with the.

Then you can open with Word with no problems. However, I will avoid providing a lecture as to why this isn't a feasible option for us - let's just say it's not. This solution will work as a temporary bandaid but is not a good permanent solution.

My IT people are saying it's not, but maybe they are wrong. If you've looked into your settings and they are correct, then what more can you do right? I am currently working with your support staff. My original email stated my problem with docx files. The first reply I got said that the problem was fixed. I tried again and was still having the same problem. I emailed this back to support - got a reply to please send us a link that is doing this.
